Summary:
The Teacher Assistant provides services as an employee of StaffEZ supporting the district by giving instruction, encouraging students, and managing the learning environment in a positive manner.

Start Date:

Essential Job Functions:
This is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position.

  • Participates in the implementation of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and behavioral plans by the IEP team for students with behavioral needs or other special conditions.
  • Performs clerical tasks to assist in the preparation of instructional materials.
  • Maintains data collection and documentation of activities, assignments and assistance provided to students.
  • Attends meetings, professional development, medical and behavioral trainings.
  • May assist with administering immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional (e.g. diapering, tube feeding, colostomy bags, medication, etc.), assists students with personal care tasks, including but not limited to, bathroom, clothing, hygiene, and toileting, and applies and removes physical therapy appliances as instructed by the service provider according to the IEP plan.
  • Assists students with mobility needs such as lifting and positioning, in and out of wheelchairs; loading and unloading on the bus; transporting students in their wheelchairs in and around school and on field trips.
  • Assists with pre-lunch and lunch activities and monitors students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.
  • Represent the district and StaffEZ in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level.
  • Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way.
  • Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum education requirements for position. Cannot be lower than a HS Diploma or GED, without prior authorization of StaffEZ HR Director.
  • Completion of the required Global Compliance Network online training modules
  • Demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
  • Must meet criminal history background requirements (requires FBI fingerprint and/or drug test)

Work Year, Hours & Compensation:
191 days per year, 32.5 hour workweek, compensation based on education and credentials, non-exempt/exempt.
