Servicing Weakley County Schools
Summary: The StaffEZ Substitute Teacher provides educational instruction while ensuring students are physically safe and emotionally cared for in the classroom environment.
Essential Job Functions:
- Report to the office upon arrival, check-in and out at the start and end of each day
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times specified
- Maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning
- Maintain accurate record of the day
- Plan and provide educational instruction and supervision of students
- Use excellent and appropriate personal judgment and discretion in supervising the class
- Assist students with assigned work
- Tidy up the classroom after the day has commenced
- Document any issues that may have occurred throughout the day
- Follow lesson plans left by the teacher; leave notes about what was or was not accomplished
- Must be reasonably able to use standard classroom technologies
- Assist administrators in implementing the policies and procedures of the school to maintain a safe learning environment for all students
- Demonstrate respect and fairness to all students and staff
- Maintain student confidentiality
- Be willing to follow classroom discipline plan when necessary in line with school policy
- Be aware and willing to implement all school emergency procedures regarding lockdowns, fire drills, etc.
- Represent the district and StaffEZ in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level
- Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way
- Perform other related duties as requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position
- Demonstrate a record of good attendance and punctuality
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma/GED
- Must pass a TN Criminal Background Check and FBI Finger Printing
- Must complete required Global Compliance Network training modules
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
- Occasional lifting, bending, and climbing of steps
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels
- Ability to supervise students outside in all types of weather
Hours & Compensation: Hours vary depending on the assignment. Pay based on educational qualifications.
