Position: Food Service Worker
Serving Franklin Special School District

Summary:
The Food Service Worker provides services as an employee of StaffEZ serving the district by preparing, setting up, and serving food in a school building in accordance with school policy, food service policy, and State of Tennessee regulation.

Essential Job Functions:
Note: This is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position. 

  • Prepare and serve nutritious and attractive meals.
  • Assist with meal production as directed.
  • Maintain and apply all safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards and practices in all food service areas as required by federal, state, local, and district regulations.
  • Operate production equipment and dishwashing equipment.
  • Compile and maintain appropriate records and forms.
  • Receive, stock, and inventory food and supplies.
  • Transport food and cash bags/boxes when necessary.
  • Compile and maintain appropriate records for federal, state, and local regulations and reports.
  • Public relations as necessary.
  • Coordination and implementation of sales promotions.
  • Understand and determine qualified meals and qualified components of meals.
  • Monitor reimbursable meal qualifications at the point of service.
  • Stock, display, and present merchandise.
  • Assist in the coordination of events and activities.
  • Assist in the operation of facilities in the absence of the Kitchen Supervisor.
  • Meet and service the needs of clientele in a timely fashion and in a pleasant and appropriate manner.
  • Assist the Director and/or Supervisor in arranging substitutes as necessary to ensure program operation.
  • Assist in the operation of facilities as directed by Director and/or Supervisor.
  • Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, cooperative way.
  • Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position.

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality.
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
  • Must meet criminal history background requirements
  • Requires FBI Fingerprint and PSOR clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels
  • Occasional climbing of stairs
