Summary: Interprets psychological, and/or developmental tests for children, and adolescents with learning, developmental and social/emotional/behavioral disabilities.
Responsibilities: (Include but are not limited to)
- Attend IEP Meetings for re-evaluations, eligibility, and any others as requested.
- Collaborate with S-Teams at each school as a team member.
- Consistency in professional intervention advice
- Administers and scores a variety of standardized tests; conducts evaluations with clients, and families, as appropriate to the operational setting.
- Prepares diagnostic reports, to include test results and interpretation; develops appropriate recommendations based on test results and case history.
- Consults with educational, clinical, medical staff, researchers and/or other team members as appropriate regarding client needs.
- Monitors compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as with educational policies and procedures.
- Develops educational programs and recommendations for clients as appropriate, facilitates least restrictive educational plans and program guidelines for clients.
- Coordinates and collaborates with community agencies.
- Continues professional growth through participation in in-service meetings, familiarization with pertinent literature, participation in educational programs as appropriate, and review of state and federal laws governing provision of educational diagnostic services.
- Psychologist shall complete all required activities and turn in the correct reports to the appropriate designee in the proper time-frame.
- Shall conduct him/herself in such a manner as to command the respect of the Principal, teachers, parents, students, and co-workers.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Shall be of neat and proper appearance.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Special Education.
- Any other duty/responsibility as assigned by the Director of Schools or his/her designee.
Qualifications:
- Eds. with certification in area of specialty
- Appropriate Tennessee Department of Education Licensure.
