Position: Special Education – Behavior Academic Class

Job Summary: The Special Education – Behavior Academic Class Teacher provides services as an employee of StaffEZ serving the district of Fayette County Public Schools. The responsibilities of a special education educator are creating lesson plans, instructing students according to the state standards and in conjunction with their IEP’s, collaborates with other teachers, staff, and administration in addressing the needs of the students, identifies and instructs high ability students in the five areas if intellectual, specific academic, creativity, the arts, and leadership, and monitoring student progress.
Starting Date: Immediate until filled.
Work Year, Hours & Compensation: Hours vary depending on assignment. Pay per hour depending on qualifications and experience. 175 days per year.
FSLA: Non-exempt.
Essential Job Functions

- Represent the district and StaffEZ in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level.
- Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive supportive, and cooperative way.
- Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required, or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position.
- Knowledge/Skills: General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
- Knowledge of the IEP process.
- Goals setting and implementation of IEP.
- Display professionalism in dealing with students, campus staff, and parents.
- Has provided instruction to students diagnosed with behavior disorders (ED/BD, ASD, etc.)
- Has developed and implemented data collection systems.
- Experience in conducting FBAs and writing BIPs.
- Developed and implemented behavior intervention plans.
- Knowledge and understanding of principles of applied behavior analysis.
- Use available technology in your lessons.
- Communicate effectively with parents and students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications:
- Completion of the required Global Compliance Network online training modules
- Demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality.
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communications.
- Must meet criminal history background requirements (requires FBI Fingerprint and/or drug test).
- Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree in Special Education from accredited university
- Certificate with special education endorsements BCBA or BCABA licensure (preferred)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Certification (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Occasional climbing of steps
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels
- Potential supervision of students outside in all types of weather.
- Depending on assignment, may involve more physical activity, e.g., Physical Education classes, pre-school, or special education assignments.
